itel A80 Price in Nepal & Specs
The itel A80, which retails for NPR 12,990, is a formidable competitor in Nepal’s low-cost smartphone market thanks to its 120Hz display, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, and 5,000mAh battery. The camera performs well for the price, even though it might not be able to compete with high-end phones.
The Itel A80 features a budget-friendly design focusing on a sleek and lightweight build. It comes in three colors: Glacier White, Wave Blue, and Sandstone Black.
While the body is plastic, it’s designed to mimic a glass-like finish, and the build quality is generally considered good for the price. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and the camera module on the back includes a 50MP main camera and a ring flashlight.

Design
The design of this phone is pretty simple. The back is made of glass-like plastic with textured patterns and has “Aome” inscribed on the lower left side of the phone. From the outside, the camera lenses seem a bit too big and will definitely be a fingerprint magnet.
It is a single-speaker phone, and the speaker is located at the bottom, alongside the headphone jack and Type-C charging port. It has a responsive side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the right side.
The SIM tray, which houses two SIMs and one microSD card (expandable up to 2TB), is located on the left side of the phone. The frame of the phone is also made of plastic.
I like that the selfie camera uses a punch-hole screen design, coupled with slim bezels and a screen-to-body ratio of 90%, which makes it look both beautiful and premium.
Display
This phone has a 6.7-inch IPS LCD display with a 720p resolution. Streaming on this device gives you decent picture quality, and you can watch YouTube videos at up to 1080p for better image quality. The maximum brightness on this phone is 500 nits.

There’s also a dynamic bar at the top that helps you access your notifications, battery status, and other system elements seamlessly, adding more to the phone’s aesthetics.
Contrary to what most people think—and what Ito claims about this phone—it does not have a 120Hz refresh rate. In fact, the screen refreshes at 60Hz max, and nobody can convince me otherwise. Like, how can anyone even mention 120Hz refresh rate alongside this phone? The same phone I am holding in my hand right now?
However, it does have a touch sampling rate of 120Hz, which I believe is what these brands are intentionally mixing up to market their budget phones these days.
The display offers decent clarity and vibrant colors for media consumption and browsing, though it may struggle in direct sunlight due to its 500 nits of peak brightness.

Its Refresh Rate vs Touch Sampling Rate
For those who do not understand the difference, here’s a simple breakdown:
- Refresh Rate: How fast the phone updates the images on the screen, especially when scrolling, gaming, or doing other fast-paced activities. The higher the refresh rate, the smoother the visual experience.
- Touch Sampling Rate: How fast the phone screen responds to touch—when you tap or swipe. The higher the touch sampling rate, the more responsive and fluid the touch experience.
That said, I’m sure you now have a clear idea of what to expect while using this phone.
Software and Features
This phone runs on Android 14 out of the box, which has some cool features like:
- A landscape display charging widget
- Ultra power-saving mode
- Smart Link+ that improves network connectivity by automatically repairing signal issues in poor network areas
It is powered by the Unisoc T603 chipset, commonly found on low-budget phones like this one. It’s designed to optimize performance, but if you’re buying this phone, don’t expect top-tier performance.
It’s an entry-level smartphone meant for basic activities like calls, light browsing, and less tasking mobile functions.
Gaming and Performance
Playing Call of Duty Mobile on this smartphone, it lags. While the game was playable, the performance was poor with noticeable lags.
So, if you’re a mobile game lover, you might want to consider other options—perhaps a budget gaming phone like the Ito RS4 for a better gaming experience. Otherwise, the only games you’ll enjoy playing on this phone are lighter ones like Candy Crush, Subway Surfers, and similar casual games.
Battery Life
For moderate to heavy users, the large 5,000mAh battery of the itel A80 provides a full day of use. It can last up to two days between charges for light users. But it takes more than three hours to fully charge the device from 0% to 100% using the included 10W charger.
Camera
The camera is where they tried to make some upgrades from the A70. The rear camera setup now includes:
- A 50MP main sensor
- A depth sensor
- A ring light-style flashlight
The front camera is an 8MP selfie shooter. Features include digital zoom, auto-flash, face detection, touch-to-focus, and portrait mode.
As for photo and video quality—despite the 50MP label—it’s still a low-budget phone, so expectations should be moderate. The cameras take decent pictures and videos in good lighting, preferably outdoors.
Both the front and back cameras record videos at 720p, 30FPS.
Final Thoughts
Aside from the camera size and sensor lenses—which I find a bit too large—this is a simple and easy-to-hold phone. It serves its purpose of making decent smartphone features available to those on a tighter budget in 2025.
