Vivo V40 5G Price in Nepal and Availability

Vivo V40 5G Price in Nepal and Availability: Vivo is back with a new mid-ranger in the face of the Vivo V40. Vivo V40 5G Price in Nepal starting from NPR 48,600 to NPR 44,955. Vivo V40 Lite has Released in July 2024 with 4G, 5G Networks, 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM, 6.78 inches AMOLED, 120Hz Display, Android 14 OS, Triple Rear & 32MP Front Camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 (4 nm) Chipset, Octa core CPU, 5500 mAh Non Removable Li-Po Battery with 80W wired Charging. What changes have come about since we saw the last model?.

The Vivo V30 came out just a few months ago, and we already have its sequel, the Vivo V40. These mid-rangers are known for their solid cameras, and they also have good battery life and fast charging. Even with the quick turnaround since the last generation, we get upgrades like better ingress protection, stereo speakers, and a larger battery.

Design

The V40 looks stunning. Ours is in that gorgeous purple colorway, its glass back matte with that silky and somehow sparkly texture at the same time. The design of its camera island, too, has its character. Both back and front bend into a skinny plastic frame, and the phone doesn’t feel all that fli

Display

Ingress protection has gone up a notch at IP68, up from the IP54 splash proofing on the prior model. Again, the display is a curved 6.78-inch OLED sporting a 1260p resolution and refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Shot-hardened glass covers it, and again, it is a very fine thing to behold, contrasty, sharp at 453 PPI, with HDR10+ video.

The screen is a bit brighter than before. We measured around 560 nits maximum with the slider, and this can boost to around 1300 nits in auto mode—good for comfy use outdoors. This screen’s high refresh rate can dial down from a smooth 120Hz to 60Hz when the phone is idling to save energy.

As I said, the audio setup has been updated: there is a set of stereo speakers now. Those are quite loud and very clean and clear. As far as biometrics go, the Vivo V40 offers an under-display fingerprint reader. Fast and reliable, just the way it’s supposed to be. You can get the phone with either 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage – and, just like last time, this isn’t expandable via microSD.

The Vivo V40 runs on FunTouch OS 14 atop Android 14. You get a bunch of options to customize the looks and animations of the interface, and holding the volume down key with the screen off can be used as a shortcut to launch an app or do a certain task. Vivo does not say exactly how much support the V40 will receive, but it is assumed to be two major OS updates and three years of security patches.

Performance

One thing that has not changed is the chipset. It is again a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, so as expected, the performance is just the same as it was on the Vivo V30. In benchmarks, the scores are solid for the class. There’s still more powerful options in this price point, but it’s enough to get the V40 running smooth, and you’ll get some gaming out of it, which is great. Sustained performance is excellent too: there’s almost no thermal throttling during our prolonged stress test.

Battery

The V40 does pack a bigger battery, rated at 5500mAh, compared to the older version. The battery life of the V30 was already quite good, but the V40 does even better, earning a frankly excellent active use score of 16 hours and 37 minutes in our tests. In tow with the V30, fast-charging on the V40 only goes up to 80W and this time, you don’t get a charger in the box in all markets. Using the charger of the V30, we managed to charge the V40 from 0 to 66% in half an hour and a full charge took 46 minutes.

Camera

Now we have the cameras, which have been tweaked a bit. You still have a 50MP main camera, but it has a different sensor and a Zeiss-branded lens this time around. That’s paired with a 50MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus—that’s the same as the V30’s. And like before, there’s an aura fill light on the back of the phone, and you can adjust the color of the light too.

The main camera shoots 12.5MP photos thanks to pixel binning, and the shots are quite detailed with nice colors and good contrast. They are slightly on the soft side, though, and there’s a tendency to overexpose. Shots of people look pretty good, skin tones and textures come through well. Apart from the default, which is Zeiss Vivid mode, there is a Zeiss Textured mode for those who love a slightly darker and grittier look, while Zeiss Natural mode produces a more desaturated and natural look.

2x digital zoom from the main cam is just okay. The results are softer than the regular shots. At night, the Vivo V40 makes use of an automatic night mode and it does a good job. The photos are detailed and have nice colors. They’re clean too, with little noise. Both shadows and highlights are well-developed, and light sources are rarely blown out.

The ultra-wide cam also does 12.5MP photos, and they’re quite nice, with plenty of detail and good-looking colors. There is some edge softness, and the dynamic range could be better. Still, this is one of the better ultra-wide cameras in this price range. Not to mention, since it has autofocus, this ultra-wide can take macro close-ups as well. Photos from the ultra-wide cam have plenty of detail, good dynamic range at night, but are a bit noisy.

There is also a 50MP front-facing cam with autofocus. This cam’s selfies are impressive, coming out detailed and sharp, as well as true-to-life colors and natural skin tones. The dynamic range is great too. The Vivo V40 does record 4K footage with all of its cameras-that’s an improvement, as the ultra-wide on the V30 could only shoot in 1080p.

The main cam footage has very good contrast, excellent sharpness, and plenty of detail, along with vivid colors, too. Overall rendition impressed us too. The ultra-wide camera also shoots solid 4K footage just like the main cam. Video stabilization is excellent, too, no matter the camera used.

The main camera does an okay job in videos at night. They’re a bit soft and noisy, but the dynamic range is alright, and there’s plenty of detail.

We’re pretty pleased stereo speakers come standard, full ingress protection doesn’t hurt one bit either. Yes, you could opt for other rivals that feature better chipsets with superior software support too. The vivo V40 isn’t a badly balanced mid-tier phone by all means; most of the finer niceties are there too – in which case it merits consideration.
