OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G Overview

Awesome Display: The 6.72-inch Full HD display with 120Hz offers seamless scrolling and clarity for an immersive experience.

High Performance: The Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset is combined with an Adreno 619 GPU, 8GB RAM, and as much as 256GB of storage for seamless multitasking and storing all your media.

Powerful Battery: Long-lasting 5000mAh battery lets you charge when and where you want.

Impressive Camera: Triple camera with a 108MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor; 16MP selfie camera captures sharp and vivid photos even at night, besides bringing about AI scene detection and Nightscape.

Security: A side-mounted fingerprint sensor provides easy access, while face unlock complements the process of swiftly and securely accessing your phone.

Camera

The first thing you notice when you take the phone out are the camera islands and the unique mix of materials used in the design. This camera island approach has become quite popular; the Zenfone 9 and some Oppo phones have it, and so does this.

The whole thing isn’t just the camera,. The other thing is the materials. The back is a glossy plastic, which is a huge fingerprint magnet and very reflective. The sides have this sandstone texture, giving it a very interesting feel when you hold it

Your palm feels the smooth glossy plastic at the back, while your fingers feel the rough sandstone texture. Bottom line: they’ve tried something new here, and your eyes are either going to love it or hate it.

The Cutouts house a 108MP lens and a 2MP macro lens with a 2MP depth assist sensor. Now, let’s take a look at some actual camera samples. The shots are decent but not the best in this price segment.

White balance fluctuates between too magenta or too blue. Low-light shots are decent, though you shouldn’t expect heavy processing. Indoor photos are decent, and one can download them for a closer look from the link in the description.

Battery Capacity

Other than that, you get pretty standard features: a 3.5mm headphone jack, flat rectangular sides, dual speakers with 200 Ultra volume, a 5000mAh battery with support for 67-watt fast charging, and a hybrid SIM tray. Just one thing to note: the edges have developed a bit of scuffing because I’ve been using it without a case, so you might want to use one.

with a 5000mAh battery and the efficient Snapdragon 695, this is an easy two-day phone. If you are not using the camera or gaming all day, you might get away with a single charge in two days. It’s a solid performer in terms of battery life, with smart adaptive features that help preserve the battery’s lifespan.

Display

It does boast a 6.7-inch display, so it is a large device. Although it doesn’t really feel overtly bulky, and the weight distribution is actually quite well-balanced. Still, one-hand use is certainly a stretch. And they have put an ultra-loud speaker in there, an ultra-volume mode, really; it’s definitely one of the loudest-sounding smartphones in a room.

The display: it’s a 120Hz adaptive LCD display, not AMOLED, with a typical brightness of 550 nits and a peak of 680 nits. It is decent but not the best in this price segment. Other phones offer an AMOLED display, more brightness, and HDR support.

So, if you use your phone outdoors a lot, consider a brighter phone. Also, there is no in-display fingerprint sensor; the power button doubles as a physical fingerprint sensor. I think it is fast, convenient, and just works. There’s also face unlock, which is fast.

Performance

The performance. They’ve kept the same old Snapdragon 695 processor that powered last year’s Nord CE 2 Lite. So, in terms of chipset, there is no upgrade. And yet, the chip is so capable in this price segment. In daily performance, app multitasking, or casual gaming, it has no major concerns.

I played Call of Duty on high graphics with no issues. The device doesn’t overheat, even after long gaming sessions. The battery drain isn’t too serious either. There’s even a special gaming mode to optimize gaming, based on the specific performance needs.

But there are indeed some mid-rangers equipped with better processors-Snapdragon 778G or Dimensity 920-being an example. Yes, Snapdragon 695 is more efficient by far in terms of battery life. Actually, the performance of all these processors is similar.

Selfies, however, are not great due to aggressive processing that over-beautifies my face and struggles with highlights. This is something OnePlus needs to fix. The phone shoots video only up to 1080p at 30 FPS which is disappointing, and there’s no Optical Image Stabilization, though EIS works well. It also has a dual video mode for vlog-style content.

The device runs OxygenOS 13.1 atop Android 13, further smoothing things out with an evolved UI, including a redesigned notification panel, among other features. It supports the virtual expansion of RAM to help users with heavy multitasking.

Conclusion

After all, it’s OnePlus, so you can’t go wrong. This is a very safe option, but if screen or camera quality is top of the agenda, you may want to look elsewhere. If gaming or battery life is a big deal for you, the Nord CE 3 Lite is the best choice.
