OnePlus Pad Price in Nepal and Availability

This is the OnePlus Pad. I want it! Launched in Nepal at some awesome pricing almost equivalent to its pricing in India. This tablet is currently the strongest under 70k as available in Nepal. Yes, I know you have been asking about it so here’s the review

This is OnePlus Pad. This box has a promising design with very nice finishing. On the outside, it says OnePlus Pad in the box, and inside, we just get a data cable-sadly, no charger supplied.

The tablet is actually packed thin at 6.5 mm and weighs just 552g, so very light. It’s an 11.6-inch tablet, and in Nepal, it comes only in a single color option-the green shade. The color does look good but is a fingerprint magnet

. All in all, it has a uni-metal body with a shimmering, cutting-edge design. The OnePlus logo tag is presented at the backside, and camera bump can be seen.

And for your question, the answer is yes, it does wobble a little, so if you’re planning to draw on this tablet, you’ll definitely need a case.

The design is symmetrical and with magnetic pins for the top keyboard, while the right side has a USB C 2.0 port, a mic, and two speakers. On top, the magnetic port is for the OnePlus stylus. Two more speakers are on the left side, making a total of four speakers.

Regarding the design, it has no fingerprint sensor and no haptic feedback, as this is a tablet, like the iPad. There’s also no headphone jack, no microSD card slot, and no LTE support, as this is the Wi-Fi version.

The OnePlus Pad comes with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP wide selfie camera. There is a “line light” camera technology, which tracks you while video calls are happening, and it works very well.

Design, Display

Let’s get it started with design item. Some people just rip off this keyboard cover shenanigans first. Well, first things first, as you can see, this is pretty hardy. You’ve got a massive 12.1-inch display on the Pad 2, but as you can see, they have skinny little bezels surrounding it.

It is pretty heavy, weighs almost 600 grams, so you might want to do a pushup or two to avoid the biceps ache after about 20 minutes. Now, like the original OnePlus Pad, this tablet is clad in aluminum, which makes it feel nice and heavy.

You know it’s premium just from holding it, and the edges are made of aluminum all the way around, as you can see. Pretty small little bugger, too, so even though it’s a big ol’ 12-inch behemoth, I found it slips into my backpack without too much of a struggle.

Like those iPads, not the most exciting of designs but fairly smart. It’s got that matte finish which does help to hide smudgy prints and the like. Sadly, OnePlus has ditched the funky radial pattern they had on the original Pad, which just gave it a bit more character. Although, thankfully, the camera bump isn’t as massive as it used to be.

Performance and Memory

The OnePlus Pad embodies the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 to power it up. This silicon was first revealed towards the end of the year 2021, and it was actually the world’s first smartphone chip based on TSMC’s 4nm process node. It has a tri-cluster architecture with one Cortex-X2 (@3.05GHz), three Cortex-A710 (2.85GHz), and four Cortex-A510 (@1.8GHz) cores.

Likewise, the visual processing is handled by a 10-core Mali-G710 CPU. Needlessly to say, the OnePlus Pad packs a lot of punch for an Android tablet.

The entry-level variant of the tablet comes with 8GB RAM and an internal memory of 128GB inside. However, OnePlus has a few options concerning the memory configurations for the tablet, the top-of-the-line option with the tablet going up to have 12GB of RAM and internal storage of 512GB.

Software

Let’s put it back on the keyboard stand now and talk about the software. Not much to shock here, of course. It’s running Oxygen OS 14.1 over Android 14, and OnePlus promises three OS updates-you’re covered all the way to Android 17-in addition to four years of security updates. So, that’s not too bad at all in terms of support.

Sadly, there is no fingerprint sensor installed in the power key or hidden anywhere else on the OnePlus Pad 2, meaning you will have to rely heavily on a bit of face unlock to unlock the device-as it usually works fine, but today just can not be bothered. Clearly, I think it’s just a wee moment.

Gaming Performance

Multitasking, on the whole, generally works quite well. So if you’re messing about in-app, you just long-press on this wee bar down below to bring up the dock. This does exactly the way you would expect-and, you’ve got all your favorite shortcuts right there, all your most recently used apps on the right-hand side, and you gone fast access to all the rest of your apps and files.

However, I have found that that dock doesn’t actually pop up when you’re in certain apps. For example, in good old Google Docs, you can be pressing that thing for days straight and there’s absolutely no sign of the dock at all. Hopefully, that will be sorted soon. I’ve already had a couple of updates through since I started reviewing the OnePlus Pad just a couple of weeks ago, so you can’t say OnePlus isn’t on it at least.

And, as always, OnePlus has thrown in some very good gestures for multitasking. So, for example, when you are in an app, you can swipe two fingers down the middle of the screen and select another and boom, you’re straight into your split-screen multitasking. And of course, you have that smart sidebar too, so you can just swipe that in and tap something else if you want a bit of full-on 3-way action.

I also like this going to have two apps working side by side. One can basically shove one off the screen so that the other takes up most of this display. Then, whenever you want to refer to the other app, just give it a quick tap, like this, to bring it into play. Handy for quickly switching between tracking Spotify and referring to a document or something like that. Back again quickly to your main app with a quick tap.
